2008 Match Reports
20/4/08 v Ransome & Marles CC (League - away)
Sheffield United ladies travelled to Ransome & Marles in Newark to start their 2008 season.
Despite the rain it was decided to play the match and hope the weather improved as we went along (which it did slightly!). The girls won the toss and fielded first. Some excellent bowling from Katie Levick and Kath Weaver and a good all round fielding effort kept Ransome's score down to 139 all out.
Our opening batters, Kathryn Doherty and Rachael Walsh went in and gave us a solid start putting on 86 runs between them and we knocked the runs off with 2 overs and 6 wickets to spare. This was an excellent victory especially as Ransome & Marles have never been beaten before. Well done girls, keep it up!
