Mission Statement
Sheffield United cricket Club takes great pride in our history and tradition and we will continue to evolve to ensure that we are a respected club at the forefront of club cricket in Yorkshire.
Our goal is to provide opportunities and facilities for all people of all ages and ability to play and practice cricket in a safe and friendly environment. The club is committed to ensuring equality is incorporated across all aspects. The club will embrace all levels of disability and develop a disability cricket centre. The club will strive to be successful on the field based on teamwork, and we will ensure a vibrant, accessible and viable club. The club is particularly focused on youth cricket and will help to promote the game of cricket in order to maximize participation and enjoyment and also to enable people to reach their highest potential.
We believe in competitive cricket played in the true spirit of the game.
CLUB AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
Cricket
Provide an environment which encourages cricket to be played at a high standard, whilst ensuring Sheffield United Cricket Club remains competitive in all competitions we enter.
To offer coaching for all levels of ability
To develop the skills of male, female, junior and senior cricketers to enable them to reach their highest potential.
To play cricket in a safe and friendly environment.
To retain club mark and club focus accreditation.
Ground
To ensure Bawtry Road cricket ground is maintained to a standard to stage 2nd eleven county cricket and Yorkshire League cricket.
Junior, Community & Ladies
Harness and develop all young cricketers so they have the opportunity to contribute to the game of cricket at all levels and play a central role in club cricket life.
Develop and strengthen a structure and pathway for women and girls to actively participate in and follow cricket.
Develop and strengthen the whole club environment, promoting cricketing opportunities for people with a disability as well as developing a disability cricket centre.
Develop and promote cricket for black and ethnic minorities.
Ensure that our cricket club is an integral part of the local community, contributing an invaluable service to all sections of the local community, developing club members, supporters and volunteers.
Funding
Increase revenue to ensure sustainability of the club, help deliver improved facilities and playing success.
Players, Members & Associates
Develop and strengthen senior playing teams, providing positive role models to all club members, leading to achievement and success.
Seek to increase the numbers of players, juniors and members.
Ensure good communication through the Club’s web site.
The club is committed to ensuring equality is incorporated across all aspects of its management.
The club will treat all people fairly and with respect.
Provide opportunities for personal development to satisfy the long term aspirations of the club.
Cricket Overall Aims & Objectives
Members and players will at all times behave according to the club’s code of practice.
Short-term Aims & Objectives
To review the administration of the club and to put in place procedures to ensure the club operates efficiently.
To establish a consistent level of high performance
To continue to attract new players to the club which will improve the performance of the team.
All new players shall meet the player profiles required for the club and need to bring added value to the or have the potential to do this.
A top six finish in the Yorkshire League.
Promotion to division one of the South Yorkshire Cricket League.
To win the President’s cup.
A top three finish in the South Yorkshire Alliance league
The selection of juniors into all senior sides.
To retain the ECB Women’s Premier League North title.
Make closer links with the Sheffield Hallam University.
Medium-term Aims & Objectives
To challenge for honours in the Yorkshire Cricket League.
To establish the second team in the first division of the South Yorkshire League.
To continue to lead in staging 20/20/matches in South Yorkshire
To establish a team to play friendly matches.
To stage representative matches.

Long-term Aims & Objectives
To develop a framework of governance and management to ensure the sustainability of Sheffield United Cricket Club.
To establish Sheffield United Cricket Club as one of the best clubs in Yorkshire for high levels of performance and for developing junior players.
To review short and medium term objectives.
Ground Overall Aims & Objectives
The ground and facilities will meet the requirements of the Yorkshire Cricket League and South Yorkshire Cricket League and any other current legislation as required by ruling bodies.
Short-term Aims & Objectives
To develop in conjunction with Sheffield Hallam University cricket facilities to enable 2nd team county matches and Yorkshire League matches to be played on the main ground.
To continue to try and improve pitches so that we are regarded as having one of the best pitches in the Yorkshire League.
To improve our ratings in the annual Yorkshire League pitch reports.
To present the ground and facilities to the highest achievable standard and to ensure that this is maintained throughout the season.
To develop a ground master plan in partnership with Sheffield Hallam University.
To organise annual cricket force day
To hire a cricket ground for one senior team to allow four seniors sides to represent Sheffield United.
Medium Term Aims & Objectives
Pitch reports to rank in the top three in the Yorkshire League.
To provide an outdoor artificial practice area.
To undertake bookings for the two grounds to maximize pitch usage.
To utilize our own ground staff to prepare pitches and maintain facilities.
Long Term Aims & Objectives
To review short and medium term objectives.
To enter an additional team in the South Yorkshire Cricket League.
Juniors, community & Ladies Overall Aims & Objectives
We will strive to develop our junior and ladies section together with increased cricket programmes in local schools.
We will follow ECB recommendations on child welfare and safeguarding of young people and vulnerable adults.
Short Term Aims & Objectives
Continue to provide a clear progression route from U9 to U17’s developing the skills of young cricketers to enable them to play representative, regional and county cricket.
To improve the links with local schools to widen participation in cricket.
To encourage junior cricketers to participate in senior cricket.
To continue and develop the school holiday cricket courses.
To continue to develop the Ladies teams to progress to the highest standard.
To encourage more women and girls to play in established SUCC sides including the development of an all girls teams to represent SUCC at junior level.
To form links with Disabled organisations to provide cricket coaching and cricket
To form links with SEN schools in the South Yorkshire area.
To make available training for coaches who work with disabled persons.
To continue to offer coaching and coaching opportunities to people from all backgrounds.
To continue to offer the opportunity for other clubs and organisations the use of the indoor cricket facilities.
To have two qualified coaches at every level.
To encourage participation and volunteering by parents and supporters.
To give opportunity to receive training to become coaches.
Medium Term Aims & Objectives
Increase the link between Senior, Junior and Ladies teams to establish a cohesive, vibrant and viable Club.

To be recognised as a club for our work in schools and for the development of all players.

Funding Overall Aims & Objectives
The club will strive to bring in additional revenue to assist in sustaining the club and to help with keeping membership rates at reasonable levels.
Short Term Aims & Objectives
Appoint a fundraising sub-committee.
Encourage members to inform their friends, local businesses etc about the opportunity to advertise on the club’s TV screen and website.
Approach three companies about having a banner on the ground.
Approach twelve companies about match day ball sponsorship.
Produce a brochure outlining all sponsorship packages which are available to local businesses.
Have six adverts in the 2012 Fixture Brochure
Discuss with Sheffield Hallam University the possibility to sell refreshments at all junior matches.
Medium Term Aims & Objectives
Attract one main sponsor.
Increase the number of members.
Make successful grant applications.
Long Term Aims & Objectives
Attract sponsorship money and external funding of £7000 per annum.
To review short and medium term objectives.
Players &Members overall Aim & Objectives
Continue to encourage senior members to support and become role models within the club, attending all practice sessions, meetings, presentations/club functions.
All members will help be responsible to help run and support the club’s initiatives.
All people involved with Sheffield United Cricket Club are important.
We will treat all members’ family fairly and with respect.
Short Term Aims & Objectives
Ensure people and guests’ behave as outlined in the club’s code of practice.
Increase the numbers of members.
Increase the level of engagement with members during the winter.
Provide a range of social events.
